2014 DIDIER MONTCHOVET "BLANC DE BLANCS" CREMANT DE BOURGOGNE, BURGUNDY, FRANCE
20% Aligoté and 80% Chardonnay
Organic / Certified Biodynamic
Didier Montchovet founded his Biodynamic vineyard in 1984 in the Cote de Beaune of Burgundy, France, a stone's throw from the village of Pommard. Today he farms 9.2-hectares of Demeter-certified Biodynamic vines planted to mineral-rich Jurassic soils of the region. The cellar is gravity-run, and Didier also has a system or recapturing rainwater in order to conserve and reuse during the summer. This delicious Cremant is a blend of 80% Chardonnay and 20% Aligote from vines planted in 1990 on clay limestone soils. All the fruit it hand-harvested. Didier manages the growing and harvesting, after which all the grapes are transferred to an Ecocert-certified sparkling wine specialist to finish production in the traditional Champagne method. The result is an elegant, dry sparkling with lots of of finesse. A wonderful and unique alternative to Champagne. Club Price: $26.09
2017 BICHI (TELLEZ Y LUYT) "ROSA" TECATE ROSE, GUADALUPE VALLEY, BAJA, MEXICO
Unknown varietal - possibly Dolcetto or Carignan
Organic / Biodynamic
Meet the new face of Mexican wine! Located just over the border from California in Tecate, Mexico, the Tellez family Biodynamically farms 10 hectares of their own vineyards and collaborates with organic growers around the Guadalupe Valley to make wines under the Bichi label. Bichi "Rosa" comes from a dry-farmed, head-pruned, native-rooted vines in San Antonio de las Minas near the Pacific. The grape identity is a mystery: the farmer thinks it might be Dolcetto, but the Tellez family suspects it to be a grape like Carinena (Carignan) due its naturally fresh acidity. All the fruit is hand- harvested, fermented and raised in steel tank, and bottled without fining or filtration and negligible (only 20 ppm) SO2. The result is a crisp and dry rose with strawberry and cranberry aromas and flavors, lively acidity and earthy accents. It's easy to enjoy with many foods, from fish tacos to a Thanksgiving feast. 2017 STOCK WERK (GEYERHOF) GRUNER VELTLINER KREMSTAL, AUSTRIA
100% Gruner Veltliner
Organic
Geyerhof represents fifteen generations of family winemaking In Austria. Stockwerk is the project of the latest generation, Josef Maier son and his wife Maria. In German, "StockWerk" means the work (werk) of the vine (stock), a reference to the family's passion for organic viticulture and holistic approach to farming. Situated in Oberfucha on a cold, northeast facing site surrounded by sparse forests, the vineyard is characterized by its cold microclimate and high-draining, mineral-rich soils. It is also part of real working farm that includes a herd of the native Wildwux cattle and a vibrant bee colony. Fermented in stainless steel, this delicious Gruner is crisp and bright, with zesty citrus and stone fruit aromas and flavors with herbal accents undercut by racy acidity. The signature white wine of Austria, Gruner Veltliner is ultra food-friendly and even pairs with tricky green vegetables like asparagus and Brussels sprouts. It makes a terrific alternative to Sauvignon Blanc or unoaked Chardonnay with fish, white meats, and creamy dishes. Club Price: 16.19
2017 LEMASSON VINS CONTES "BOIS SANS SOIF" VIN DE FRANCE BLANC, FRANCE
100% Chenin Blanc
Organic
Olivier Lemasson is a sommelier who became passionate about natural wines while working for a respected French retailer. This inspired him to go to the source and apprentice under the legendary Marcel Lapierre, founding father of the French natural wine movement, in Morgon, Beaujolais. His wines are all made in a fresh, vibrant and bright style, meant for drinking. This is a unique, co-fermented blend of Menu Pineau (aka Arbois Blanc) and Chenin Blanc bottled unfiltered and with no added sulfur. Wine geek approved AND delicious! Club Price $21.59
2017 TWO SHEPHERDS "BECHTHOLD VINEYARD" LODI CINSAULT, CALIFORNIA
100% Cinsault
Organic
Inspired by Rhone varietals and blends, Two Shepherds founder William Allen began making wine in his garage. Over the years, he continued to expand bit by bit, and experimenting with small lots from unique vineyard sites throughout Northern California until eventually earning the nickname, 'insane master of small lots'. He is lucky to be among the lucky handful to work with the famous Bechtold Vineyard in Lodi for his Cinsault. Dry farmed, head trained and planted in 1886, the Bechtold vineyard is the oldest Cinsault vineyard in California and believed to also be the oldest in the world. Cinsault is commonly used as a blending grape traditional Southern Rhone reds, but from great old vines sources can certainly stand on its own. The grapes were whole cluster fermented with native yeast, then aged in old French oak barrels for nine months. The result is a fragrant, red-fruited wine with savory notes, excellent structure and lingering flavor. A great option for white and red meat -- barbecued, smoked, braised or roasted -- and delightful with a wide variety of cheeses. Club Price: $22.49

All hand harvested and fermented with natural yeast with a long maceration followed by nine months in oak vats, this is pure Garnacha: perfumed and lively with plenty of red and black fruit supported by natural acidity and fine tannin.
